The morning started with an Easter Egg hunt and fifty+ excited children roamed the garden searching for hidden chocolate Easter Eggs. Every pupil had to find two Easter Eggs before they could start eating. Our bigger pupils assisted the littlies to find their eggs, thus prolonging their personal treasure hunt.

Easter Thursday just happened to coincide with the schools Open Day, and nearly all of our parents spent a part of the morning at our Pre-Primary School. During part of the morning, the children of the Kindergarten and Junior Classes made cardboard Easter hats with their parents. The pupils in the Grade 0 Class played numbers games with their parents.

We had prepared in advance one hat per child; however, parents were having so much fun that both moms and dads each wanted their own hat! It was most enjoyable to watch great big fathers squatting down on our little chairs, and laboriously colouring in a hat and then cutting out the shape. The best part about the whole operation was the fact that they absolutely loved every minute! As teachers, we were delighted to watch our smaller pupils ‘teaching’ their parents!

I believe that our fashion conscious moms enjoyed wearing their homemade hat just as much as any boutique creation!

Our Theme for the day was Sharing and Caring at Easter, and once again our parents really proved that school days truly can be the happiest days of a small child’s life – especially when they have parents who share in their education.

Alwande and Aunty Emma - volunteer worker from U.K. Shaun and his Grandma Thapelo and mom Tambuti Pre-School came to visit at Easter

Thank you to all of our wonderful parents for their involvement in our school.

I hope that you will enjoy these random photos – please comment in the guestbook – thank you!
