By Faith Vilakati - SWAZI OBSERVER-12-Nov-2009

GOVERNMENT will this year plough and provide seeds to all the families relocated to give way to the construction of Sikhuphe Airport, Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini revealed yesterday.

He said this would help government to verify if the relocated families will be able to plough next year and how much harvest they can get. He said each of the families would be allocated a two hectare piece of land for ploughing.

The Prime Minister said this during his visit to Sikhuphe to meet the relocated families and community members of Sikhuphe Village, Malindza. He explained that after allocating the land, government will also make follow-ups to verify if the land is enough.

The PM also presented 70 keys to the houses to Chief Ndlondlo Tsabedze of Malindza on behalf of the 70 relocated families. He told the families and community members that he was aware that, even though government had constructed the houses, there were other rooms that were left out but said would be constructed soon. He said the missing rooms were lilawu, intsanga, indlu yagogo and cattle byre.

The Prime Minister also told the gathering that government would build schools that would accommodate all the relocated families, dipping tanks and earth dams to be used by livestock and the communities. He also stated that government would work on having enough water. Also present were cabinet ministers.
