SWAKI Proprietary Limited is to build a shopping centre valued at E14 million at Midway, Ezulwini.

SWAKI CEO Paul Friedlander said even though the project was still at its early stages, tenants had already started applying for business space within the complex.

He said some of the potential tenants who had already applied for space included Spar, Nandos, Pep Stores and Dunns clothing shop.

Friedlander said the complex would also offer space to banking institutions, restaurants, supermarkets and other business entities. He added that the size of the complex was estimated to be 6 000 square metres. Friedlander said despite the shopping convenience the mall would bring to the people of Ezulwini area, it would also create 150 permanent jobs.

He said the jobs to be created were in the areas of maintenance of the building and its premises, employment in the shops and elsewhere. He said a shopping mall was necessary in the area due to its dense population.

Adding, Friedlander said construction of the complex would begin as soon as the company recruited a construction firm to carry out the project. He said the mall was expected to be ready by mid-next year.
